How incredibly devastating is this Covid becoming. I’m living through Melbournes 6th lockdown, my 4th but if you count my two weeks quarantine then it’s my 5th.I have not been knitting or reading. I make roti & bread, not masterchef standard but edible. I am trying to do 6 to 8000 steps a day. I am so lucky where I live. How fortuitous it was as I sat in my little jungle house in Kampot Cambodia last November searching for a light and bright studio in StKilda by the bay, saw this signed up sight unseen, with just a video from the real estate agent. It is a blessing in lockdown, the sunshines in my window as it rises in the morning, so my little balcony is full of winter sun. I am successfully growing rocket, coriander, parsley, chives & planted some snow peas to climb up my railings and these last few days have been sunny & 18 C so the seedlings burst through the earth yesterday.

The area where I live is full of many magnificent mansions built during the gold rush when Melbourne was paved with gold in 1850s, I so enjoy walking around the hood with these fabulous houses their old fashioned gardens all bursting into bloom.

I am only a 10 min walk to the bay, luna Park and a great shopping strip Acland St. Not that anything other than 2 supermarkets, 2 chemist’s are open but with an abundance of cafes there is always a queue waiting for coffee takeaways, I always get one as I walk. You can feel spring is in the air, actually two pigeons were kissing on my balcony rail yesterday , one thing led to the other, I looked away lol, then he flew away.

I am working on my last and final edit of my novel so I am very focused this lockdown.
