Well after about 3 weeks of moving from my house sitting house to a week at my friends new house finally I am settled in to a tiny little round house @ bohiemz resort. Its about 6 kms from town but close to a mini mart and a second hand book shop . Its close to my friends house and Jeni lives just down the road.

It was sad saying goodbye to dog but he didn’t seem to care I went back after a few days to help my friend move and dog acted like I wasn’t his best buddy for 3.5 months just a pat and a tail wag was all I got. I did expect him to jump with glee on my return but alas I was just a passing owner to him. luckily the landlords are moving in and know him well so he will be well cared for.

My friends new house is plagued with problems it had been rented as a weekender these past 3 years to a couple from Phnom Penh who left it such a deplorable condition.It was supposed to be cleaned before he moved in but it wasn’t, then the electricity and water were not functioning right , its all being fixed but the new landlord doesn’t understand it is his cost not my friends so all is not well as could be . plus my friend had 5 truckloads of furniture so the house is in disarray boxes every where . I have tried to help and my son has come out to move around heavy things . Its great having my son here not that I see him that much but this break is doing him good I can see him finally being happy , maybe its the 50 cent beers but all is good with him.

This resort was built by an English family , they are still here with managers doing the day to day routine for them . They have an English couple come on a Sunday and cook a roast, very nice it is too, Yorkshire puds were delicious . There is a communal kitchen here and a restaurant so to break it up I eat at restaurant 3 or 4 nights a week , good meals in my budget so I don’t have to cook anymore !!!! Just have toast on my off nights . How long this will last who knows I may crave to cook and clean up after myself in a few days , don’t think so though.

The best thing about this resort is there is a freshwater pool filled by a spring . i have been swimming every morning , it rains most days although today is a a magnificent day and after I write this I will get a coconut and sit by the pool , have a swim and read all day because I can . They have a quiz here on a Sunday night , I joined in and surprised myself answering quite a few questions . Had lots of laughs .

This is in the country red dirt roads that get quite mucky in the rain. Maybe Ill have to get gumboots but spending my childhood in gumboots its not a place I want to be so I will see how it goes .

The pool is calling me so I must away.
